First Studios is a boutique independent professional recording studio and media production company in Islington, North London. We focus on providing high-quality audio-visual production for a range of clients in a luxury space.

First Studios encompasses a dream of reviving the magic of the recording studio. To us, music is a process of exploration and discovery; experimentation and creation. We were concerned that modern music, with all its merits, was at risk of being subjected to the cookie-cutter approach of corporate hijackers; with an increasing amount of soulless, windowless studios encroaching on the individualism and creativity of boutique spaces.

# Why First Studios?

Our process is personalised, bespoke and designed to appreciate every guest's unique needs. This starts with a booking consultation, where we get as much information about the **Three V’s: Vision, Voice, and Visit**.

1. **Vision**

We make sure we're clear on **what the guest wants to get out of the session**. We want them to understand that we are serious about our craft, and that they will be our main priority.

1. Voice

We like to hear as much about guests as possible, including how they work creatively, their brand and style, and what matters to them most about the project. This also includes getting samples of the guest’s work to get an idea of their style. Some guests will have less to share, and that's fine. This step matters most for those that find it important to **share a piece of their story with us**.

1. Visit

We find a time for a booking or studio viewing and, if necessary, **match guests with their chosen professional** for the task.

About the space

Our Islington studio, where ambient mood lighting and a welcoming atmosphere set the tone, is designed like a home. In an environment built to give creatives the bandwidth to express themselves and let ideas flow, every detail, from the rustic oak tones to the lounge flooded with natural light, is a carefully intentioned decision to inspire focus, comfort and artistry.

To give guests the freedom to create without limits, we stock a variety of **industry standard recording gear** and instruments. Our isolation booth can comfortably fit up to 3 people and the lounge doubles as a live room with a capacity of up to 10 for larger sessions.

Dry hire starts at **£30/hr** or **£220** per **8 hour day.**

This includes:

- Set-up and pack-down assistance
- Professional technical support throughout your session
- Access to **industry-standard equipment** (Neumann U87ai, Apollo, Neve)
Snacks and refreshments
- A range of instruments
- Relaxing lounge space

Engineered studio time starts at **£50/hr** or **£357** per **8 hour day.**

- A professional engineer
- In-session demo mix, giving you a professional sound straight out of the studio
